Water Filters

Hydroviv made an appearance on Shark Tank and secured a deal with Mark Cuban. I was fascinated with the custom water filters the company pitched.

After some research, I developed the opinion that you can't really tell what the water filter is removing, thus it is probably not worth the buy. Hydroviv claims to filter based on your city's water chemicals, but how sure are we it's up to date or that every well in a zip code has the same water chemicals. It also doesn't tell you when you to replace the filter instead they just mention every 6 months.

I'd like to see a water filter connected to an app that can tell you exactly what it's collecting and update when replacement is needed.
