Above I reference, two articles about parenting. Jim O'Shaughnessy wrote letters to his kids as they grew up, a process I admire. Growth mindset in full effect. Writing forces one to articulate, which is the purpose of these blog posts. Writing and reflecting gets easier with practice. I didn't practice growing up because of my fixed mindset and concluded I just wasn't well-spoken. As I still may not be well-spoken to this day at least I'm getting better.

You can tell O'Shaughnessy has done it right. Him and his son, Patrick are two of my favorite follows. So I know what worked well for that family must be valuable.

Downtown Josh Brown's post, is something I absolutely agree with and can relate to. Brown has FOMBEY - Fear Of Missing Books. I to, struggle to keep up with my reading list. And although this is unsettling, things such as time with family and friends trumps time spent reading. Books last forever. Family and friends don't.

This is a movie, I couldn't have enjoyed more and would recommend to nearly anyone. I connected with this movie so much and it flaunts a lot of similar advice as the blog posts above. I connected to this because of where I'm at in life. Thinking about graduate school, how to spend my time, how to be a good father, various deep thinking conversations:

family, books, EQ, lifelong learning, faith, and just an overall perspective of the flaws, inefficiencies in today's United States.

The director of this movie, Matt Ross, wrote this as a tribute to becoming a father. Ross stars as Gavin Belson on Silicon Valley. Anything involving Ross from now on is a must watch for me.
