Stand up comedy is taking off in my life and it is because of the phone usage. Stand up comedy is engaging and often hits home unlike the constant entertainment thread you get from phone.
I believe comedians are funny truth tellers and will continue to rise in popularity. Dave Chappelle takes people's phones before performing to keep his image pristine - his reasons include keeping his stuff original, intimate, and not running the risk of being exposed.
It's an interesting concept: but I wonder what other places, events, acts, experiences will follow a similar approach.
Could a car lock your phone away and only open it if you are stopped? Maybe autonomous car that connects with phone automatically goes into self driving mode when you get a phone call/text.
Sporting events will always have phone. Element of surprise and storytelling is part of the game.
